  • Short guided tour: Party like a Habsburg – splendour, power and spectacle

A tour exploring the Habsburgs’ courtly festive culture. Weddings, coronations and diplomatic events have always been accompanied by music and dance,

bringing artists from all over Europe to Vienna. The tour shows how, even back then, people lived by principles that still shape the Eurovision Song Contest today: cultural diversity, international encounters and celebrating together.

Duration: 30 mins

Language: German and English

Max. group size: 30 people

  • Short guided tour: Sisi in the movies

Using original imperial furniture from the Vienna Furniture Museum – which was also used on the film set – the guided tour highlights the fascinating similarities and differences between historical reality and cinematic romanticisation.

The Sisi Trail in the permanent exhibition explores the prominent role of the furniture in the Sissi films starring Romy Schneider, in comparison to the real Empress Elisabeth.

With his three Sissi films, Ernst Marischka created a myth that inextricably links Empress Elisabeth, the film character Sissi and Romy Schneider.

In addition to the exclusive special tour, this can also be explored independently during your visit.

Dates: 5.5, 6.5., 7.5., 8.5., 9.5., 10.5., 12.5, 13.5., 14.5., 15.5., 16.5. and 17.5.| 2.00 pm
