Description

The Imperial Palace Innsbruck combo ticket lets you visit both the “Maximilian I“ exhibition, and the Palace’s Imperial Apartments.

The exhibition “Maximilian I”

Emperor Maximilian I (1459-1519) is not only one of the most famous Holy Roman Emperors from the House of Habsburg (Lorraine), but he also had a profound effect on Tyrol. January 12, 2019 marked the 500th anniversary of the Emperor’s death. To commemorate this occasion, Burghauptmannschaft Österreich had organised a living museum, featuring a special exhibition entitled “Maximilian I and the Rise of the Modern Age” which opened on May 24, 2019. This special exhibition was later transformed into a permanent exhibition, opening its gates for visitors from all over the globe on November 22nd. The shown living museum allows a focus on aspects and topics relating to Emperor Maximilian I and the age he lived in. The exhibition is supported by the latest multimedia tools, which make it a great experience for the whole family.
