The Sisi Museum paints a many-faceted picture of Empress Elisabeth. Only here in this ‘museum of emotions’ can her mystique be truly appreciated and the secrets of this fascinating personality be illuminated.
The Imperial Apartments were once occupied by Austria’s most famous ruling couple. The nineteen rooms comprising the official and residential suite occupied by Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Sisi are furnished in authentic period detail and convey an impression of nineteenth-century courtly tradition and imperial lifestyle.
In the former Court Silver and Table Room you can explore the sumptuous extravagance of imperial dining traditions. Highlights include precious services, exquisite porcelain, centrepieces – some of which are up to thirty metres long – and the legendary ‘Emperor’s napkin’.
Please note that the silver collection will remain closed from April 1, 2023 until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.
